Eton Institute encourages its staff and instructors to walk up to 10,000 steps per day to live up to a healthier lifestyle. Dubai, 27 January 2016 – According to World Health Organization, lack of physical activity is the fourth leading health risk factor for global mortality that accounts for 6% of deaths worldwide. Moreover, insufficient physical activity is identified to be the main cause for approximately 21 – 25% cases of breast and colon cancers, 27% of diabetes and approximately 30% of ischemic heart disease. Eton Institute, a leading international language & professional development training provider, steps up to a healthier lifestyle with a fitness campaign by encouraging its employees and instructors to walk 10,000 steps daily. The daily step count will be recorded on a unique fitness app, developed by Eton Institute. It also shows the number of kilometers reached and the calories burned, corresponding to the step count throughout the day. The app will detect user’s physical activity that includes walking, stair-climbing or any step-like movement. Research has proved that exercising enhances productivity, makes individuals more awake and focused, boosts creativity as well as reduces the risk of illness, commented Moaz Khan, Marketing Director. As part of our CSR activities, we encourage our staff and instructors to lead a healthier lifestyle, therefore enhancing their personal and professional well-being, he added. The app will also enable employees to check the step count and achievements of their co-workers, with inter-departmental competitions and monthly prizes offered to the highest performers. The app also provides useful tips on food and other related topics on healthy living. To know more about our CSR activities, visit https://etoninstitute.com/csr. *END* |
