Eton Institute to Distribute 2 Million Emirati Arabic Phrasebooks in Celebration of the UAE National Day
Promoting the Emirati Arabic culture and language among its community of learners, Eton Institute provides a unique language treat by distributing 2 million Emirati Arabic Phrasebooks for free.
Dubai, 9 November 2016 – In the run-up to the two major events that highlight the Arabic culture and language in December, (45th UAE National Day on 2nd December and UNESCO’s Arabic Language Day on 18th December), Eton Institute gives tribute to the UAE, by distributing 2 million free Emirati Arabic Phrasebooks.
A study states that only 60% of expatriates are aware about the basics of the UAE culture while 72% said they had little knowledge about the country’s traditions. Moreover, every 7 out of 10 expats don’t have understanding about the UAE culture at all.
“With the increasing influx of expatriates, we are committed to creating initiatives that promote cultural diversity and language learning in the UAE. As we celebrate the UAE’s much awaited events this December, there’s no better time to encourage residents and tourists to understand and appreciate the local heritage. Eton Institute’s pocket-sized language Phrasebooks will guide them in learning all about the Emirati Arabic dialect,”commented Maya Mazloum, Learning and Development Manager at Eton Institute.
In 2013, Eton Institute distributed 1 million Emirati Arabic Phrasebooks in collaboration with a wide range of partners. This year, Eton Institute is set to double the target, by distributing 2 million Phrasebooks with the support of partners including Meydan Hotels, Emirates Driving Institute, Choithrams, GEMS Education, Dubai Health Authority, Jumeirah Group, Carrefour, and many more.
“Making these initiatives a national advocacy is both a privilege and an opportunity to showcase our expertise as an international language and training provider. Aside from the benefits of gaining knowledge when you immerse yourself in the culture, learning Emirati Arabic in the UAE is a huge advantage in social and professional contexts,” added Maya.
