According to the Dubai SME100, the combined net turnover of 2013’s top 100 SMEs exceeded AED 4.5 billion, which is an increase of over 100% from the 2011 ranking. Their profit exceeds AED 434 million, 98% higher than in 2011. In terms of job generation, 2013’s top 100 hired more than 7,000 employees, exceeding the productivity per week rate of AED 636,000, a 22% increase from 2011. Being a major driver of the economy, the SME sector supports the whole business ecosystem and all parts of the industry value chain making up the economy of Dubai and the UAE.
