Dubai, 18th March 2015 – Eton Institute has been officially recognized as one of the Most Distinguished SMEs to Work for in the UAE by Great Place to Work Institute UAE, part of a global research, training and consultancy firm that recognizes the best workplaces in over 50 countries worldwide. The official list, published in the 16 March issue of Bloomberg Businessweek Middle East magazine is a ranking of the nation’s best employers based on the confidential feedback of employees and an audit of management practices.

As part of its ongoing commitment to offer a world of opportunities and self-development, Eton Institute, the UAE’s largest language and professional development training provider, promotes inspiring community programs and great employee benefits. We are delighted to be recognized as one of the Most Distinguished SMEs to work for in the UAE, and the satisfaction is even greater knowing that we received this award from our employees and their experience with us, commented Sue Brett, VP Business and Marketing at Eton Institute. Our employees are what make Eton Institute a Great Place to Work, they are our driving force strengthening our rapid growth and international expansion, she added.

To pick the Most Distinguished SMEs to Work for in the UAE, the Great Place to WorkInstitute conducts an evaluation of each participating company. Two-thirds of the company’s score is based on the results of the Institute’s Trust Index survey, which is sent to the employees from each company. The survey asks questions related to their attitudes about the management’s credibility, employee engagement and job satisfaction. The other third of the scoring is based on the company’s responses to the Institute’s Culture Audit, which includes detailed questions about pay and benefits programs and a series of open-ended questions about hiring, communication, and development.

Commenting on the Most Distinguished SMEs list, Ron Thomas, Chief Executive Officer of Great Place to Work Gulf, said: Congratulations to all participants in this year’s program. The SME sector is not only the backbone of any economy but also an important driver of entrepreneurship and innovation. We are really pleased to find some world-class HR practices among the UAE’s top five SMEs. This is a testament to our belief that any company, irrespective of size, can build a culture of workplace excellence.
