13 Oct Eton Institute Supports UN Global Goals to Ensure Quality Education for All Worldwide

As part of its ongoing commitment to deliver affordable and accessible learning for all, Eton Institute takes the pledge for Global Goals for Sustainable Development, honoured to support Goal #4 on ensuring quality education. Dubai, 13 October 2015 – Eton Institute, a leading international language & professional development training provider, commits to support UN Global Goals for Sustainable Development, charting action goals for people and the planet by 2030.

On 25th September 2015, 193 world leaders agreed to adopt the Global Goals for Sustainable Development at the United Nations Sustainable Development Summit 2015 held in New York. The new development goals aim to fulfill 17 goals to achieve three bigger advocacies in the next 15 years: end extreme poverty, fight inequality and injustice, and fix climate change.Eton Institute is passionate about Goal #4, which aspires to guarantee fair quality education and encourage life-long learning for individuals around the world.According to UNESCO Institute for Statistics (July 2015), the number of out-of-school children and young adolescents aged 6 to 15 years old rose to 124 million in 2013, from 122 million in 2011. The report states that 41% or 24 million of all out-of-school children have never attended school and will probably never start if the trend continues. About 20% of these children enrolled but could not continue their education, and 38% are likely to start late and will be overage for their grade level. We have been advocates for quality education for all since day one. We are excited to continue that pledge through to Global Goals, an incredibly effective platform for keeping people informed about this important issue and motivating them to take action, commented Sue Brett, VP of Sales & Marketing at Eton Institute. Last year, during our Summer for Change campaign, we dedicated a whole month to promoting quality education for children in need, through a multitude of activities and fundraising. Global Goals is the perfect opportunity for our team to build on this commitment and we look forward to supporting this initiative in every possible way,she added.
